Crayon Cam Privacy Policy

How Snow Tree LLC handles your photos, coloring pages, and purchases in the Crayon Cam app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Last updated: October 17, 2026.

At a glance

Crayon Cam has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and no tracking. Snow Tree does not keep your photos or your coloring pages, and does not sell or share your information for advertising.

Photos you choose

When you create a page, the app makes a smaller copy of the photo you chose, removes its location and other metadata, and sends it over an encrypted connection to Snow Tree's generation service. The service checks the photo with Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch, then sends it to Gemini on Google Cloud Vertex AI, which draws the coloring page. Snow Tree holds the photo and the page in memory only while it answers the request, and does not store them.

Google processes the photo for Snow Tree as a service provider under the Google Cloud terms and does not use it to train its models. Vertex AI may cache a request in memory for up to 24 hours. If Google's automated safety systems flag a request as possible abuse, Google may keep it for up to 90 days only to investigate that abuse, and authorized Google staff may review it. Cloud Vision processes the photo in memory and does not store it.

Your pages stay with you

Finished pages and a small thumbnail of each source photo are stored on your device. When iCloud is on, Apple keeps them in your private iCloud database so they sync between your devices; Snow Tree cannot read that database. Deleted pages stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days, and you can delete them permanently at any time. Pages are saved to Photos, printed, or shared only when you choose to.

Purchases and credits

So that credits work without an account, the app sends Snow Tree the App Store's signed record of your download of Crayon Cam and the signed record of each credit purchase. The download record contains an identifier that the App Store assigns to your Apple Account for this app. Snow Tree uses that identifier to keep your credit balance, to limit abuse, and to answer your requests. It contains no name, email address, or photo. Apple processes your payment, and Snow Tree never receives your payment details.

Snow Tree keeps the identifier, your credit purchases and refunds, and the App Store's notices about them for as long as it needs them to keep your balance and its business records. It keeps a record of each page a credit paid for, with its time and the model used, for 180 days, and daily totals as long as the billing records.

Reporting a page

If you report a page, the app sends the page's generation ID and the reason you chose. It never sends the page or the photo. Snow Tree logs the report with your app's identifier so it can review it, and keeps that log for 90 days.

Service logs

Like most online services, Snow Tree's servers and Google's load balancer record technical details of each request, such as its time, the IP address it came from, the app's user agent, the address it asked for, and the result. Snow Tree uses these details only to run, secure, and repair the service, and never to locate you. Load balancer logs are kept for 30 days. Service logs, which can include your app's identifier, and traces, which leave out your IP address, are kept for 90 days. Metrics hold no identifiers and are kept for 30 days.

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with Snow Tree under Apple's privacy policy. They do not identify you.

Who receives your information

Snow Tree shares information only with the service providers above, Google Cloud and Apple, when the law requires it, or when it must protect people or the service from abuse. Snow Tree does not sell your information and does not link it with data from other companies.

Children

Crayon Cam is meant to be used by adults. Children can enjoy the finished pages, but an adult should choose the photos and create the pages. Crayon Cam is not directed to children, is not in the App Store Kids category, and Snow Tree does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, contact Snow Tree Support and we will delete it.

Your choices and requests

You can delete your pages in the app at any time, and turn off iCloud sync in your device's settings. To ask about, correct, or delete the records Snow Tree keeps about your app download, or to ask any privacy question, contact Snow Tree Support.

Changes

This page will move to the Crayon Cam website. Snow Tree will update it before it changes how Crayon Cam handles your information, and the date at the top shows the latest version.
